Speakers

Sarah Marie Stackpoole, PhD

Sarah Stackpoole conducts research on regional and national-scale status and trends of water quality and availability, with an emphasis on freshwater ecosystems. Quantifying temporal and spatial patterns and identifying and resolving driving processes at these scales is challengingbecause constituents of interest may have multiple sources, and there are a large number of processes that can influence the magnitude of concentrations and loads in rivers. Sarah’s objective is to conduct research that provides new insights into past andrecent surface water quality patterns and trends. The results can hopefully be used by resource managers and policy makers to addresspresent-day issues in order toprotect human and aquatic life.
