Mike Thron

Biologist, USACE Regional Planning and Environmental Division South

Mike Thronhas over 20 years of experience in environmental compliance and environmental planning for a variety of complex USACE civil work projects, related to flood risk management, ecosystem restoration, navigation, and other business lines across several USACE districts. This experience includes the application of various species and community based ecological models to quantify biological and ecological functions and associated impact and benefit analyses. Mike Thron also has extensive experience with Endangered Species Act coordination through Section 7(a)(2) consultations and Section 7(a)(1) Conservation Plans. He has led regional survey efforts for the interior least tern on over 700 miles of the Lower Mississippi River and regularly performs scientific diving for freshwater mussels in various large and small rivers throughout the country.
